The Wedding of Your Dreams
There is something elegantly classic, something comfortingly traditional about getting married in a church, especially Sausalito Presbyterian Chuch which is featured at our Romantic Church Weddings web site. Clinging to the steep, oak-clad hills of Sausalito, this century-old church is a warm, intimate place to exchange vows. Its redwood shingle exterior blends effortlessly with the surrounding oaks, dogwood trees and flourishing shrubs while the building's gothic-arched porch and series of peaked rooflines draw the eye skywards. The interior is paneled entirely in old, dark wood.
One of the church's most unusual features is the dramatic pyramid-shaped vault in the ceiling, whose leaded glass windows serve as skylights. Other design elements include restored hard wood floors, wood and glass chandeliers, and glass wall sconces. For a truly magical effect at your wedding, these sconces can be outfitted with real candles. Sausalito Presbyterian has a state-of-the-art sound system and organ that can duplicate any instrument from a delicate harp to a fortissimo trumpet. On-Site Reception Downstairs, Thomson Hall is available for receptions up to 135 guests. It features hardwood floors, a grand piano and leaded glass windows to showcase the beautiful view. A lovely courtyard just off Thomson Hall allows your guests to enjoy the sunshine. If you'd like a larger venue, our wedding director will suggest hotels in the area.

Shirley has a background in theater and acting and has directed hundreds of weddings in our church with grace and style. Contact her about her floral arts and wedding singer services. She will be with the bridal party every step of the way both at the rehearsal and throughout the wedding ceremony. Once your wedding date is booked, Shirley will be available to help customize your wedding to fulfill any unique needs including flowers and the look of the church. She provides comprehensive resouces from photographers to reception sites.
ORGANIST: RALPH HOOPER is a composer and conductor as well as our worship organist. He has performed to critical acclaim in many recitals and concerts. He has worked with some of the leading musicians of our time, including a multi-year association with the late Robert Shaw. Ralph has provided music for over a thousand weddings, from small private ceremonies to major, high-profile services. He meets with couples in advance and then keeps in touch by email. Ralph Hooper offers a wide variety of classical organ works as well as theatrical and film music for your wedding. Major processional music includes Jeremiah Clarke's highly popular The Prince of Denmark's March, Johann Pachelbel's elegant Canon in D, as well as Richard Wagner's traditional Bridal March. Recessional music includes Mendelssohn's Wedding March, Henry Purcell's exciting Trumpet Tune and a dazzling, original arrangement of the Ode to Joy from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. And these pieces are just the beginning. For those who want to include theatrical or film music, the sky is the limit. Composers like Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Andrew Lloyd Webber have graced a number of recent weddings.
