The Meaning of Membership
Our church functions democratically - which means that its ministry is dependent on its members for volunteer effort, soulful service, financial support, and decision-making.
Members are those who have made a public commitment to following the way of Jesus as it is revealed to them, and who have made a public commitment to participate and support this church and to serve the world through it. New members are given information about the church and the denomination, are introduced to the church's elected Session, and are inducted into membership in a ceremony in worship.
Sausalito Presbyterian Church encourages each member to interpret religious traditions with great freedom, in the long Presbyterian tradition of deep respect for the individual's right and responsibility to find meaning in scripture for him or herself.
